Howgills Bunk Barn

Acceptance of Bookings.
We reserve the right to decline or accept a booking to any person/group whom we feel the facilities are not deemed suitable for.

Bookings and Payments
These bookings require a 50% deposit and full payment is required 8 weeks before the holiday commences.
Written confirmation of booking will be given on receipt of deposit.

Smoking Policy
Please note that a no smoking policy is in place for the Bunk Barn; although we do permit smoking in the grounds please keep away from windows, doors and foyer areas. Please ensure that all cigarettes etc are extinguished in a safe manner.
We do not allow any candles, joss sticks, or portable gas stoves to be used (or stored) on the premises due to fire hazards.
Fireworks are strictly prohibited.

Security Bond
At the time of booking a £100 returnable security bond will be taken, this will be returned to the customer within 7 days of departure.
All damages, breakages and excessive housekeeping duties due to the poor state in which the property may be left after your holiday are the legal responsibility of the Group Leader. We are entitled to demand payment of any unusually substantial costs incurred and this may take the form of an invoice if the costs are above the security bond held on deposit.

Linen Charge
Please note that the charge for linen is £5.00 per head per booking and will include one duvet, one duvet cover, one mattress sheet, one pillow and one pillowcase. A hand & bath towel is also included as is a shower room mat.

Cancellations
If for any reason you have to cancel your booking, please inform us as soon as possible.
If you cancel your booking more than 8 weeks before your arrival, we reserve the right to retain the deposit paid to cover our administration fees.

If you cancel your booking within 8 weeks of arrival, cancellation charges will be as follows:
No notice to 5 days prior 100% of the full reservation period
6 – 14 days 90%
15- 28 days 75%
29- 56 days 50%
57- 100 days 30%
It is recommended that you take out holiday insurance to cover your booking; Insurance is not compulsory, but is recommended.
A £25.00 fee will be deducted for administration charges from any money returned. We will endeavor to do our best to re-let the holiday period, should we be successful in re-booking the holiday dates we will return any money, less the £25.00 administration charges.
Please note that if you arrive with a reduced number of guests, the full cost will still apply. The group leader will be responsible for the balance of any money owing.

Group Leader
The person who made the booking will be referred to as the group leader.

A group leader’s responsibilities are as follows:

• He/she makes all individuals within the party aware of all fire procedures and escape routes.
• To ensure that all guests are aware of the non-blocking of any passage ways or fire exits.
• Any guest, who is suspected to be in possession of any illegal drugs or substances, must be reported to the relevant authorities and the owner immediately and without any exception.
• To report any damage to equipment and appliances, also to report any unsafe, loose or damage to fittings, as soon as discovered. This is to be formally noted on the documentation supplied at the commencement of your stay in the Bunk Barn.
• To report any power or equipment failure.
• To ensure that no smoking occurs in the building.
• All guests must be made aware of these Terms & Conditions.

Conduct of Guests
We pride our Bunk Barn on its beautiful idyllic location, however there are local dwellings nearby, please consider this when partaking in outside activities and using the lane to the Bunk Barn.
We understand that Bunk Barn guests may wish to consume alcohol, please keep drinking within reasonable limits.
No alcohol is to be consumed by any person under the legal drinking age of 18. It is requested that you use the lane for your car as little as possible during your stay and restrict your speed to 10mph at all times.

Sole use of Bunk Barn
Although the booking is for the sole occupancy of the Bunk Barn, the owners and the representatives will have access to the office, laundry room, drying room, w.c’s adjacent to the office, communal shower room and the private store at all times.
We will endeavour to restrict such access to a minimum so as not to disrupt your holiday.

Bunk Barn Office
The Bunk Barn office is strictly private and will remain locked at all times, other than those times displayed or when a member of staff is in attendance.
However emergency contact information is available on the information board outside the office.

Outside Barbecue
Barbecues are permitted providing great care is given at all times.
There are two-patio area’s where a barbecue can be set up. There is also a separate area for a campfire for which you can purchase logs locally.

Games
Various board games and jigsaws are available for your use; please ensure they are returned in their original condition.
Football and outside games are permitted in the owner’s adjacent field, care must be given and local byelaws must be adhered to.

Pets
Dogs are permitted through our booking system at the tariff shown. When the Bunk Barn has been booked for sole occupancy, dogs are allowed into the dwelling at the Group Leaders discretion otherwise they are restricted to kennels. Dogs are not permitted in any bedrooms or on any furniture.

Guide dogs/hearing dogs are the only pets that are allowed to accompany their owners into the bedrooms, please advise us of working dogs at the time of booking.

Valuables
Please note that cars are parked at the owners risk, Howgills Bunk Barn cannot be held responsible or liable for any damage or loss suffered to any vehicle or its contents whilst on the premises. Your personal belongings are also on site at your own risk.

Departure
We ask that you depart from the Bunk Barn on your day of departure by 11am. All keys must be handed in to the Bunk Barn Manager or representative.

Pond Area
The natural streams flowing through, and adjacent to the Bunk Barn site may be seen and assessed as a dangerous feature in someone’s risk assessment of the property. In assessing this risk, we have sought to manage it by providing a fence around the Bunk Barn pond and stream. The other streams and natural hazards in the vicinity are to be respected as such hazards and you must take care when moving around the countryside. Visitors and guests acknowledge their responsibility to be aware of their own safety. On no account should you let children be unsupervised in these areas.

Any other Business
Should any person not adhere to the above Terms & Conditions the owners of the Bunk Barn reserve the right to cancel the booking and retain any monies paid.

The Bunk Barn is let on the total understanding that all Terms & Conditions will be adhered to during any holiday booked.

The Proprietors reserve the right to change the Terms & Conditions without notice.
